Other evidences

The Jerónimo Martins Group strives to make its products and services accessible to all its audiences, including those with special needs. As such, we seek to offer users of the Group’s digital platforms an experience that complies with international good accessibility practices. In this regard:

  • We seek to follow the WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) guidelines when developing the pages of the Jerónimo Martins websites;
  • In the development of interfaces and content, we adopt the specifications and technologies defined by the W3C (World Wide Web Consortium), namely HTML and CSS;
  • We have implemented a model for regularly monitoring compliance with accessibility guidelines on the website using a web governance tool that allows us to have visibility at all times on the degree of compliance with the guidelines and any non-conformities that require correction. The tool in question also allows monitoring the progress of work done on this subject over time.

V. Denunciation of situations of discrimination

According to div 13.1 of Decree-Law no. 83/2018, of 19 October, whenever a person with disability is treated less favourably than another person in a comparable situation has been or will be treated, which constitutes a discriminatory practice against persons with disabilities, provided for and punished under the terms of div 4 of Law no. 46/2006, of 28 August, that person may, in accordance with the provisions of Decree-Law no. 34/2007, of 15 February, file a complaint.

The National Institute for Rehabilitation (INR, I.P.), provides a form to report situations of discrimination, forwarding the complaints submitted to the competent authorities. Every year, the INR, I.P. prepares an annual report on the application of the law that prohibits and punishes discrimination on the grounds of disability and the existence of an aggravated health risk (Law no. 46/2006, of 28 August).
